  • 1987 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL Vehicle Description

1987 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL sedan. Preservation is the key. Finish appears to be 100% original, no accidents. One very small rust spot on bottom of LF Fender. Some stone chips on hood. Rust on filler plate on front bumper (replaceable part). Clean Carfax. 2 owner car. We have service records for over $4000 in maintenance in the last year including timing chain on the V8. It drives beautifully. Loaded car, even has period carphone in console. The doors shut like bank vaults. Its crowning feature is one of the nicest interiors, again all original, that I have seen in including 2015 models. Leather, carpets, wood dash trim are all unexpectedly beautiful. Tires, brakes, etc. are all good. Everything works. Drive it anywhere there is a paved road (it has its limits as it is a luxury car, not an SUV). It was priced at $3900 and I might take a little less if someone just asks. But we raised the price to $5000. Why?  2 reasons- A. the NADA book valuation is $5300 low retail and $12400 high retail. If it got totaled you would be very safe and they would pay big money.  B. German car buyers seem to believe if it isn't overpriced it can't be any good.  I want you th know this is an unusually good and impressive car and I am open to a serious offer from a serious buyer. Not because you can afford a cheap car but because it is a great value.  Something above $3500 will own this car and it is worth more. Thank you.
